Which dates are going to be busiest at airports for this summer’s major getaway?
If you’ve got a summer break already booked, here’s a rundown of the predicted busiest airport dates. If you haven’t booked yet and are wanting to get away, do get in touch and let’s find you the perfect getaway.
The four busiest UK airports (Heathrow, Gatwick, Manchester and Stansted) will be most crowded during the second half of August.
The busiest days will be: Fridays at Birmingham, Bristol, Edinburgh, Heathrow and Manchester. Sundays at Gatwick, Luton and Stansted. Mondays at Glasgow, Liverpool and Newcastle.
Here are the busiest predicted dates:
Cardiff – 28 August
Newcastle – 21 July
Birmingham – 25 July – although it (& Edinburgh Airport) has eased its restrictions on liquids in hand luggage which should reduce security queues. Passengers may now leave liquids and electronic items such as laptops in handbags as they pass through the scanners. Plus there is no limit on the number of two-litre containers in each bag.
Luton – 27 July and 1 August
Bristol – 25 & 26 July, 15 & 22 August
Gatwick – 17 August, when it will handle more than 160,000 passengers
Manchester – 22 August
Liverpool – 28 July and 25 August
Heathrow – (potentially) 29 August
Stansted – 22 and 31 August.
